Our Mission
The mission of BEST Montana is to identify and address barriers to economic self-sufficiency, raise awareness of the importance of asset building, and advance opportunity and financial security policies.
Assets are not defined narrowly in the sense of one's car, house, or savings account, but rather encompass the non-tangible assets of one's health, education, and social capital. In other words, assets represent a broad array of resources that enable people and communities to influence the decisions that affect their lives and ability to participate in society in meaningful ways.
Our Goals
- To raise awareness of the importance of asset building with advocates and policy makers;
- Increase the number and diversity of organizations that see asset building as a priority; and
- Frame a comprehensive financial security and opportunity agenda
